Female Genital Mutilation: A Violation Of The Most Basic Human Rights.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) involves the partial or total removal of external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons. This widespread practice reflects deep-rooted inequality between the sexes, and constitutes an extreme form of discrimination against girls, women, and others assigned female at birth.
