Nearly three-quarters (73.9%) of households in rural areas use either a well (55.3%) or natural sources (18.6%) as their main source of drinking water. Almost two-fifth (38.0%) of rural coastal households use pipe-borne water for drinking while 58.7 percent and 64.5 percent of rural forest and rural savannah households, respectively, use a well. The Table also Shows that in rural savannah, almost two-thirds (64.5%) of households rely on a well as their main source of water for drinking (Ghana Living Standards Survey(GLSS 7), 2017)
